My Project

My students and I both grew up in a tough area. We have had many environmental obstacles placed in our way. Often our mental health is overlooked. I want to create a classroom environment for them that allows them to decompress from the everyday stressors they arrive to school with.

Having a calming area will allow for this to happen in a comfortable and inviting environment.

This project will allow them to open up and process their feelings. Only when they are able to do this, they will be able to learn without environmental obstacles.
