This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the elementary school's Psychiatric Social Worker I help support student's during moments of crisis, grief, and loss as well as when they are emotionally dysregulated or over stimulated.

Having a safe and comfortable space for students to calm down and reflect with be extremely beneficial in teaching children how to regulate their emotions.

These supplies such as fidget toys, comfortable chairs, and books will benefit the children and allow them to relax and regulate during moments of activation and over stimulation. As well as promote mental health awareness and social emotional learning that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
