This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students enjoy learning every day but sometimes they have big emotions and need a space to calm down. In my classroom, my students learn about social-emotional and life skills. The skills include how to manage their emotions.

This calming corner will help supply my students with a variety of activities and learning resources to continue to explore their emotions.

In this space, students will have the opportunity to journal, breathe, and engage in mindful activities that will allow them time to de-escalate, think, and return to their classroom learning. They will have a space to relax and recharge with items such as beanbag chairs, sensory toys, fidgets, building kits, and more.
