Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a Title I school with a very diverse group of students. The materials requested will help our youngest learners develop and practice social emotional skills needed to regulate their feelings and become better learners. My vision is to create a calming area that can meet the needs of our students as they explore different emotions and form valuable friendships with classmates.

Our students will benefit from having a cozy area to relax using the different materials safely to express themselves all while learning healthy ways to calm big feelings.

This project will give us the opportunity to enhance skills like deep breathing, problem solving and promoting kindness in our classroom as well as in our community. The calming area will be a valuable part of our classroom and we cannot wait to make use of this wonderful opportunity!
