it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A lot of families at our school were hit hard by the COVID pandemic, and they are in need of social-emotional learning strategies. My students need a calming area in our classroom. A calming area will help my students learn valuable social-emotional skills and help them learn to regulate their emotions in order to de-escalate situations when they are having a difficult time. I believe by providing students with a comfortable place to de-escalate, students will be more apt to use their social-emotional coping strategies and discuss and address emotions.
