This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me create a calming space for my classroom where my students can go to safe a place to reset. I asking for a rug to add to the calming area along with some floor pillows to make the space comfortable. I have added calming tools and social emotional posters that will help students with strategies to calm down.

I want to provide my students with a quiet area in our classroom equipped with soothing materials and furnishings to help a student de-escalate and practice self-management when trying to manage big emotions.

The calming area will provide systems and structures in the classroom for my students to address their emotions and return to our learning space.
