This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help give my students a calming area to help create a space and provide tools and resources that will help students build their skills by engaging in mindful activities like journaling, drawing, breathing, and other equipment to create a calming area. We will need alternative seating, sensory toys, books, posters, and timers to make this area a safe space for my students.
My students all have moderate to severe autism; their disability makes them struggle with their social and emotional skills.
This calming area and new materials will help them build the skills needed to regulate their emotions and learn coping skills that will last for a lifetime. It's donors like you who make a huge impact on these students' lives.
