This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are in the midst of reconfiguring the classroom to better meet the needs of our nonverbal learners who are struggling to adapt in an academic setting. We are seeking a variety of sensory items, such as liquid floor tiles, a sensory peapod chair, wall mounted touch lights, and a shag rug to provide different kinds of textures that can help soothe their stress as well as assist in regulating themselves. We also need headphones to help them with being able to focus on their technology without the other students distracting them. We are grateful for any help we can get to help this section of the room become functional and purposeful!
