Calm the Mind and Body

Help me give my students tools to meet their sensory needs and keep their classroom organized. Special education requires lots of paperwork and individualized workbooks. The binder will help keep these workbooks in good condition.

My Project

Students with disabilities face many challenges and adversities in their lives, and it all begins in school. Some students struggle to keep control of their bodies as a result of sensory overstimulation or under stimulation. Giving the tools these students need to help overcome their sensory issues helps them control their bodies, which in turn helps them succeed in their class. Some people may think fidgets are toys, but they are an invaluable tool for students with disabilities to succeed and overcome challenges. I want to help these students succeed in the class to help them be their best selves!

Sensory overload can come from the environment the students are in.

The organizational tools will help keep my classroom organized and clean. Setting up a calm and organized environment helps keep students, whether they have disabilities or not, from becoming overstressed or frustrated.

Students with disabilities are all unique in their own way, and I want to give every student the right tools and environments to help them overcome challenges and adversity at school.
