Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students have Sensory Integration Deficits. They need to move, wiggles, scoot, shake, walk, bounce, and tap. Their need for motion needs to be addressed. My students learn from their environment. Many of my students need to interact with their environment by movement to make academic learning success. In this project I am addressing Sensory Motor Integration needs of my students in my classes.
I have a great group of students who have difficulty learning in the standard method of instruction.
Sitting still is not one of their strengths. These materials help my student focus and support their ability to stay calm. I would like my students to have seating, moving, and sensory interactions activity options. I also need to educate myself on the variation of the needs of my students that take into account their sensory integration needs. For my students I am asking for a weighted lap mat, a weighted lap pad, a slap sensory bracelet pack, a vibrating cushion, and Wobble seats.
