My Project
Middle school can be stressful, and learning a new language requires focus and confidence. My students are dedicated learners who strive to do their best, and I want to provide them with a resource that supports both their language development and their well-being—yoga mats!
With these mats, we will incorporate mindfulness and movement into our Spanish lessons, creating a space where students can practice self-regulation, reduce anxiety, and improve their listening comprehension.
During guided yoga sessions, students will follow instructions in Spanish from authentic native speakers, reinforcing their ability to understand the language in a real-world context. Activities will include deep breathing exercises, gentle stretches, and relaxation techniques—all while listening to calming Spanish audio, such as meditation scripts or cultural music.
These mats will help students develop focus, resilience, and a sense of calm, making them more receptive to learning. When students feel relaxed and present, their ability to process and retain Spanish improves significantly. By integrating movement with language learning, we create a holistic approach that nurtures both the mind and the skills they need to succeed.
