Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach Special Education students. They need accommodations to help them calm their busy minds and bodies so that they are able to learn and grow.

The wonderful items in this project will allow my students to learn to manage their struggles independently in a fun and engaging way.

These struggles can include sensory issues with classroom materials, wiggly bodies, emotional outbursts, and the inability to communicate their needs appropriately. The chairs, beanbag sets and other materials will help us regulate and work through our obstacles.

If students are able to move their bodies, it will allow their minds to focus on learning. If students can calm their minds, it will allow them to learn essential skills needed for school and life. Help us learn and grow.
