Calm Down Cozy Area

Help me give my students a black out tent, sensory bean bags chairs, and sensory activities to complete our calm down area.

My Project

My preschool students with special needs may be little (and sweet and so adorable), but, like all 3- to 5-year-olds, they have some big feelings! They need your help to get the calm down area they need to help them learn coping techniques and self-regulation skills when with those big feelings take over!

We need supplies to tailor our calm down area to thei specific needs of our sensory seeking students!

This will help my students de-escalate and calm down so they can return to the all the fun and learning happening in our classroom! For example, they can have a moment to themselves inside the blackout tent to calm down, or they can squeeze themselves into a bean bag chair! Painting is also very calming, and many of my students with sensory needs calm down with water painting!
