My Project
Our youngest students are constantly learning about the world around them everyday. They use their emotions to tell us what they need sometimes. I am a counselor so my students with disabilities need a place to calm down and cope. With language barriers, cultural differences and big emotions these calming tools are important for our little students. With these necessary calming tools we will bring new strategies into our counseling room to teach students ways to calm down during stressful situations so they can better function in their classrooms.
During small group work in counseling sessions as well as during large group work, students need calm down strategies to stay on task and focused when big emotions get in the way.
Relaxing in a bean bag, using a bean fidget and exploring the calming tools during counseling calming corner breaks help children work to their highest protentional.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
