Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project allows the children who come in for counseling to learn coping and calming strategies. I'm asking for puzzles, sensory items, and games to give children concrete opportunities to self-regulate when they are dealing with big emotions. These materials will provide the kindergarten, first, and second graders tangible materials to assist them in coping with difficult feelings. The calming corner will consist of these resources in a relaxing, comfortable setting where students can manipulate these items as they practice the skills that we are working on in the counseling office.
