This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The donations to the project will provide students with an opportunity to start their emotional wellness journey. Feelings and emotions can often times be the main obstacle for some of my students to participate. In the first grade we have been spending a lot of time naming our emotions and discussing how we can cope.
My students love to learn and move; who says you can't combine both?!
The calming center can provide students with access to the world of self-regulation. The flexible chairs provide some of my "on-the-go" thinkers with an option of a different seating arrangement. They have been loving the carpet squares, but they definitely deserve something a bit more comfy!
