This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are third graders who are learning to acknowledge, manage, and express emotions in a healthy way. They are very interested in spotting their own emotions and others' emotions, too. They are always trying to ground themselves to return to a calm state to be able to learn in the classroom.
However, my classroom is in a high need of a calming area to send students to implement the learned calming techniques to ground themselves.
Having such space would help students transition to a calm state to be ready to learn.
