Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I have accepted a new position in my school building for next year that will be very rewarding to myself and much needed for all students. I will be a SEAD Coach for the entire building. This stand for Social Emotional and Academic Development.

Classroom Management is so important in schools right now.

Students are facing many challenges at home and at school. They struggle to communicate how they are feeling and what they need to face their challenges. I will be setting up a space that students will find safe and comfortable in.

I want to support every classrooms calm down corner in my building. Each classroom has a calm corner and teachers set up this space. Teachers fund this space out of their own pockets and I would like to help them. Some good tools for this space are fidget toys, pop it’s, sensory rings, connect beads, fidget spinners, and spinners are good because they do not make a lot of noise.
