My Project
The students at my school are hard-working, innovative, empathetic, and creative. School is a safe space where they come to learn not only academic knowledge, but also life skills like conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and self-awareness.
The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic along with other trauma-related stressors have made skills like emotional regulation a challenge for some of our students this year.
As teachers, we need resources and spaces on campus for students to go to decompress and take PROACTIVE steps to prevent conflict. The materials in my project will furnish a safe space where students can retreat when needing time to process and work through those large emotions.
