My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and bright middle schoolers who learn best when they feel calm and comfortable. Some need to feel snug in a beanbag chair. Others need to be able to move their legs or hands. Being able to have slight movement or in a snug seat helps them to focus. Once focused, they are able to learn successfully. Success motivates them to engage more completely in their learning, while developing stronger and stronger reading skills.
With strong reading skills, my students will be able to take control of their learning and live their lives to their fullest potential.
The development of strong reading skills starts with being focused. Being comfortable, being able to fidget hands and feet allows students to put their anxiety aside, focus and learn. Once they have successful learning experiences, this success ignites in them a hunger for more knowledge that will carry them to greater learning.
My Project
Some of my students learn best when they are able to move as they learn. The bands for the desk legs will give them a way to more while allowing them to focus on learning. Other students need a snug, comfortable place to learn. Beanbag chairs are the first choice of many of my students.
When students have what they need physically, their minds are calm, focused, and learning.
Who doesn't read longer when they have a comfortable place to read? The longer they read, the more they develop stronger reading skills.
