Dear Donors, help me give my students calm corner materials so they have a safe, structured space to regulate their emotions, manage big feelings, and return to learning ready and focused.
Why We Need Calm Corner Materials
In my special class setting, all of my students have Level 3 Autism. Throughout the day, they often experience moments of sensory overload, frustration, or big emotions that can make it hard for them to stay engaged in lessons. Having a dedicated calm corner in our classroom will provide them with the tools and space they need to self-regulate in healthy ways.
Calm corner materials such as sensory fidgets, weighted lap pads, visual timers, calming posters, and soft seating will give my students options to manage their feelings safely and independently. This space will help them build emotional awareness, develop coping strategies, and learn how to rejoin the group when they feel ready.
The calm corner is not just a break area—it is a teaching tool that supports social-emotional learning. With your help, I can create a safe haven in the classroom that reduces stress, builds independence, and gives my students the chance to practice essential lifelong skills.
