This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are building a peaceful reading corner in the counselor’s classroom—a space where students can relax, regulate their emotions, and connect with stories that reflect who they are. We believe books are powerful tools for healing, learning, and growth. To bring this vision to life, we are seeking donations to fund a sturdy bookshelf, a variety of colorful and relatable books, and cozy items like pillows and a beanbag to make the space warm and welcoming.

This special library area will offer students a calm place to take a break, explore new perspectives, and find characters and stories they can truly connect with.

Stories have the power to build empathy, spark understanding, and inspire change. By providing access to a wide range of books—including those highlighting race, inclusion, resilience, and hope—you help create a library where every Mustang feels seen, heard, and valued.
