Calm and Focused: Weighted Lap Pads for Little Learners

Help me give my students calming weighted lap pads that support focus, self-regulation, and meaningful participation in classroom learning and play.

My Project

I love that my preschool students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn through play. Each day, they are building the skills they need for school and for life—like listening, following directions, participating in group activities, and developing independence. For some of my students, sitting still, focusing, and staying engaged can be especially challenging due to sensory and attention needs.

Weighted lap pads provide gentle, calming pressure that helps children feel grounded, safe, and ready to learn.

By adding these lap pads to our classrooms, my students will have access to a simple but powerful tool that can make circle time, story time, and small group work more successful. These resources will support my learners in gaining focus, building self-regulation, and fully participating in daily activities alongside their peers.
