Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials will be used a tools to guide 2nd graders to naming their feelings and then move towards calmness. The materials will help the students reach emotional intelligence by giving them access to tools that can help them calm down and breathe. The calming strips will give them access to regulation while sitting at their desks and the fidget toys and book will be part of a relaxation station. This is a safe place where students will feel comfortable and calm down after some big or small emotions. The focus is to give them the tools to understand their emotions and move towards ways to feel a sense of calmness.
