My Project

I am a librarian in a middle school library that has a low socio-economic clientele. We also serve a fairly high number of ELL and Special Education students. Many of these students do not have books at home. Many of these students have low reading levels. Many of these students don't understand how to properly care for books. The main goal of this project is to get more books that kids like in our library so that more students can check them out. By checking them out they can not only practice reading, but work towards reading at higher levels and develop a love and appreciation for books along the way.
