My Students
My students are busy learners. All of my students are English Language Learners and need ways to explore English in a social and academic setting. Hands-on experiences help all my students expand their language skills in a fun, exciting way.
My enthusiastic language learners are busy striving to do their best every day.
Each brings their own spirit to learn a new language and culture to our classroom, which enriches our learning. Their range of abilities varies from newcomers to proficient learners. Their parents are working hard to support them at home, yet sometimes language is a major barrier. Our public school is in an urban environment and hosts a large diversity of cultures.
My Project
Last year, we were gifted with a binding machine to make our published writing even more special. My students loved to see their work in a complete book, and worked harder to complete more writing tasks. We made so many that we need to replenish our supplies to allow the incoming students to be able to participate in making their own fabulous books. The assortment of paper choice allows the eager authors to add their own personal color style into their books. The additional binding spines will allow us to continue book making throughout the year. This year I would love to laminate their covers to make it even more special! They absolutely love bookmaking!
