Help me give my students access to our web-based curriculum by providing the materials needed to transform the lessons from the computer to hands on experiences. Our students require multi-sensory approaches that will ensure we reach all learners.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Within our classroom, we provide our students with a diverse learning style environment. Our curriculum is available online, yet we also ensure our students have access to paper activities.
As a Special Education Teacher we print and create plenty of hands-on learning materials for our students.
Although our district does provide instructional money (Thank you), we use ALOT of paper and ink for classroom instruction and materials. We do ask parents for donations, but we do not expect them to provide the resources we require monthly to run our program.
Most funding for these materials are provided by the classroom teacher and sometimes paraprofessionals. We need assistance to meet the needs of our students on a daily and weekly basis. Without donations, our program would hinder our goal of providing a safe, diverse, and hands on approach for all types of learners.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Kirton-Hardman and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
