Calling All Future Engineers and Scientists

My students need Real World STEM materials to practice their engineering and problem solving skills in a highly engaging way.

My Students

My second grade students are a very diverse group of energetic children. We are a Title 1 school in a Coastal County of South Carolina. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, as well as ability levels. I want to inspire my students to be life-long scientists and engineers! My students are bright, energetic second graders who are eager to learn new and exciting things. They love to learn through play with hands-on experiences, which is great for early elementary students.

My Project

The kits are designed to help children think like scientists and engineers as they explore the STEM design process and solve problems. The students will plan, build, and test their designs, then improve them until they are successful. The Kit comes packed with everything needed to work through three exciting challenges...plus detailed lesson plans that make it easy to focus students' learning and explain the STEM concepts behind the challenge. The students' will love trying to solve real world situations, there are also career cards to apply the students learning. The stand up white board can also be used for the planning and drawing process.
