My Students

We have 105 seventh and eighth grade students in our band and piano classes. Our students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The students we have are eager to learn and demonstrate positive attitudes.

Currently, our student population is at a 30% poverty rate.

We have to raise money for any and all musical equipment and instruments so, ​in turn, the students take very good care of what we have. Special care is taken to try and provide these students with an education which balances the core curriculum with a strong emphasis on the arts.

My Project

A portable PA System will provide our band and piano students with the equipment necessary for off campus performances for special events. Performances such as these help bring awareness to the community about the importance of Arts in Education.

A portable PA System would make it possible to showcase the talents of our students beyond the classroom providing them with real world experiences.

Due to the challenges presented by the pandemic , I have found the students of this generation in need of the skills and social confidence gained through making public presentations.
