This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you walked into your new classroom? I have yet to meet all my 2nd graders but I want them to feel comfortable and at home in their new classroom.

You will be helping students from a city school in New York.

They are 2nd graders and I can tell you that they are a lively bunch! I cannot wait to meet all the kiddies in September! I have met some of my students for the upcoming year and they LOVE school! I want them to continue to LOVE coming to school.

My Project

I am requesting rugs for their classroom because we do not have any. I want my students to sit comfortably on a new beautiful rug that you will be giving them. The rectangle rug will be used for a classroom meeting area where I would do read-alouds and teach our daily lessons on. The circle rug will be used for when the kids want to lay down and read a book in our library area. I just want my students to be as comfortable and happy to be in their classroom as much as I do!

You will be helping students who are entering 2nd grade for the first time!

You will be making an impact in their learning by providing them with a comfortable area to sit on! Imagine sitting on the floor the first day of school... that is not as inviting or comfortable for them. I am asking as their teacher to help my students. They will greatly appreciate your generously in helping them making their classroom a vibrant and comfortable environment in which they can learn!
