Calling All Donors! Help My ESL High School Students Read!
My students need books for our ESL class library to foster love for reading in English.
This project expired on August 2, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are English Language Learners. They are in need of books that are of high interest and at their level of English acquisition. They are in ESL II and ESL III.
They come from many parts of the world and are committed to learning English.
They come from China, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, and Iran. They take their learning seriously and are committed to learning English.
They are hardworking students that try their best on all tasks. They come to school every day and complete all their work. Ninety percent of the students currently have a B or better.
Access to a variety of high interest books will encourage my ESL students to read. It will provide them with more choices than what is currently available. My students are avid readers that read for fifteen minutes during class and fifteen minutes at home. Many students read for longer and have asked for more variety of books.
Your generous donation will provide our ESL classroom with much needed reading material.
This access to reading material will expose them to American culture and will help to expand their learning of English. The titles I have selected are high interest and within their reading levels.
