Calling All Creative Explorers: A Library 2D & 3D Makerspace

Help me give my students necessary materials and the resources to be able to explore, create, and collaborate!

My Project

My students are intrinsically-motivated, inquisitive, empathic, leaders, and change agents in the making.

My students deserve to have access to a great education, filled with meaningful experiences, individualized and personalized learning, equitable resources, and endless opportunities to gain global perspectives.

What does it mean to be a change agent?

There will be a fostering of a 'maker mindset' within students, encouraging them to make, learn, collaborate, and share their vision with our learning community.

The loom kits, the Cricut, the sewing machine, as well as the knitting tools will allow students to plan, design, and choose their color scheme in knitting and looming a unique idea while learning how to practice patience and encourage hand-eye coordination. These hands-on activities will allow one to practice and create their own designs independently at a station.

Making self-, whole-, and global connections, observing, critical thinking, communicating, synthesizing, applying, and producing unique ideas, this selection of 2-D and 3-D resources will tap into one's creativity.

Providing the first-ever makerspace in our school library will offer our students an opportunity to explore their interests, get creative, have access to a plethora of choices using 2-D and 3-D tools to promote engagement and connections while instilling a love of imagination.
