This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having new calculators will give all of my students the ability to do their calculations with piece of mind and consistency. The current calculators that we have have become worn, damaged, and/or missing. The ones that haven't, keep having their batteries fall out so the students lose their final calculations.
My students are special education students who struggle with math in general and need all the help that they can get when learning math.
Having to reinput the calculations makes it so they don't always understand what they are doing. These students are learning how to deal with financial math after they graduate high school.
The new calculators and other supplies will allow my students to focus more on what's being taught rather than getting frustrated about their answers disappearing. I am hoping that the students are able to focus more on what they are learning versus trying to figure out the calculations on the calculator.
