My Students

My students are struggling with checking their work. If they had calculators, they'd find it easier and would learn the benefits of checking their work.

We are the youngsters in our building of 200 students.

There are 67 students in my 6th grade classes. We are a public school with about 1000 kids in our district. We pull from various small towns in our area. My students are hardworking, kind-hearted, spirited kids. They are at the age where the love of learning is evident. They still enjoy social hour, but know when it is time to get down to business.

My Project

With calculators, my students will easily be able to check their work and build confidence. We spend a lot of time on fractions in 6th grade. These calculators will simplify the processes and give students a quick way to check their answers. Students will be learning the process, but knowing they have a correct answer will boost their confidence.

By donating to our project, you will giving an 11- or 12-year-old the confidence he or she needs at this young age to be successful.

You will be building a student's self-esteem to help him or her become a lifelong learner.
