My students are between the ages of 14-19 and are continually working in pursuit of not only graduating from college but having the skills to lead the world in whatever capacity they choose. Many of them arrive to high school several years behind grade level and work hard, often growing 2+ years in reading in just one school year. My students thrive off the opportunity to lead within our school and work alongside adults to continually make our school a better place.
Our school is committed to serving all students.
Over 20% of our students qualify for special education services and an additional 15% qualify for an academic plan. In order to serve all students we have a robust continuum of intervention and special education services and supports to ensure every student gets what they need to be successful.
My Project
My students have big goals as mathematicians: to grow two or more years in math each year and to grow 2 points on the ACT each year. In their math classes, students focus on fluency, mathematical vocabulary, and real-life applications. Calculators help our students both in class and on the ACT.
Additional calculators will help ensure that all of our students have the tools they need to be successful in class, on tests, and in life.
This project will help us provide two classrooms with a set of calculators for students unable to provide their own. We are grateful for your support!
