Calculators for MCAS Practice!

Help me give my students calculators! My class set of calculators went missing while I was out with COVID and my students rely on them daily.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will be used for my whole teaching career. At the beginning of the year I was given a class set of calculators for my Geometry and Algebra II students. Unfortunately I got COVID and was out unexpectedly for a week. While I was out, almost all of my calculators went missing because I was not there to distribute and recollect them.

My sophomores will be taking MCAS in May, and these calculators will be vital for their comfortability and success!

We also just entered our circle unit before I was sick and just introduced using calculators in our daily routine. For now my students have been using their phones, but I want them to be prepared for standardized tests where phones are not allowed.

In my Algebra II classes, I have many special education students who rely on calculators to help them work through complicated problems. I also have students who have large gaps in their education who use my calculators for every assignment. As an Algebra II teacher, I am tasked to teach high levels of math to students who struggle with the basics. I never want their gaps to hold them back in my class, so calculators are always allowed and used often.
