Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach math to a wonderfully diverse group of students. All of my classes are filled with English Language Learners, gifted and talented students, special education students, and students who are socioeconomically disadvantaged. My student make me smile everyday and I want to support their love of learning.
As mathematical tools, the daily use of calculators within the classroom is an important skill that my students need in order to succeed.
Whether working independently, with a partner, or as a class, knowing how to correctly input calculations is essential.
We know that the use of technology is one of the most needed skills in our world. As my students navigate the world of mathematics, these calculators will enable them to solve problems more quickly and efficiently. Beyond my classroom, these types of calculators are used in the sciences as well! The more exposure my students have to these materials, the more enhanced their educational futures will become!
