This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you look at my students, you see a mixture of personalities. One thing they all have in common is their drive to succeed. Many of our students come from challenging backgrounds. Despite the challenges that face them, they have a yearning to learn. My students are some of the most creative, intellectual, and innovative students. One of their greatest challenges is inconsistency. As a teacher, when basic supplies are not available, it becomes a challenge to teach a student when there are inconsistencies in their learning.
My Project
In my classroom, we have a small range of materials that will help my students. When we get into the higher grade levels, calculators become more prominent. Unfortunately, my classroom is not greatly equipped with the technology required to give my students the practice they need with these calculators.
Many of these students do not know how to use a calculator because they have not been readily available for them to use.
I am trying to even the playing-field in my classroom by trying to purchase the materials they need to be successful. Unfortunately, I am not very wealthy, which is why I am asking for help. Helping me reach my goal to increase the technology in my classroom will help me reach my goals greatly!
