Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Please help to give my students a new set of dry erase board and markers for practicing their math skills in class. Using the boards instead of traditional pencil and paper help students to be more engaged and have more low stakes opportunities to practice their skills.

We also need a few replacement calculators for our classroom set so that every student has an opportunity to practice calculating percentages, finding proportions, finding the volume and surface area.

Most of these are new concepts to the students and I don’t want them to be overwhelmed with the new formula and computations at the same time. Having enough calculators for every student in the class builds a sense of community achievement and confidence in skills as we all get the answers together.
