it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is filled with bright, eager learners who are ready to tackle the challenges of mathematics. However, many of my students lack access to the tools necessary to fully engage with higher-level math concepts. By providing a class set of TI-84 calculators, we can level the playing field and give every student the opportunity to succeed.
These calculators are essential for exploring topics like graphing linear equations, solving systems of inequalities, and analyzing statistical data.
With access to TI-84s, students will develop critical skills in problem-solving and data interpretation that are not only essential for standardized tests like the SAT but also for their future careers in STEM. These tools will make abstract concepts more tangible, allowing students to visualize and interact with math in new ways.
My goal is to create an equitable learning environment where every student has the resources they need to thrive. This project will help eliminate barriers for students who cannot afford their own calculators, ensuring that all learners, regardless of their background, can actively participate and succeed.
What makes my students special is their resilience and determination. Many come from economically disadvantaged households, yet they bring an inspiring enthusiasm for learning to class every day. This project is more than just about calculators—it’s about giving my students the tools they need to believe in themselves, succeed in their studies, and envision a future filled with possibilities. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
