This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is comprised of 88% minority students, and 63% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is ranked in the bottom 50% of all 3,601 schools in Florida. However, these numbers do not tell the true story of how incredible the students at our high school are. Every year these kids amaze me with the connections they can make and with the passion they develop towards their community.

I truly believe that these students will change the world, and I want to do everything I can to help them do it.

My Project

Coming back to school from last year has been a great challenge. The students and teachers are all happy to be back, but COVID-19 protocols still make campus not as open, inviting, and friendly. In the cafeteria, for example, all tables have been replaced by individual desks, so that students have to eat alone. The School Service committee in Student Government has decided to work with the cafeteria staff to bring some joy in to meal-time.

With your help, we can bring the joy of the seasons into the cafeteria and campus.

Your donation will provide the SGA students with decorations for the entire school year, that they will use to brighten up the campus for the student body.
