My Project
By providing goals and holding students accountable during their lunch time, students will have the opportunity to earn prizes at the end of the week and at the end of the month. I will be using the whiteboard to list each teacher and their grade to earn a star each day. If they fill that week, that class will get a prize. When they fill a full month, that class will get a bigger incentive at the end of the month. This might include extra recess, donuts in the class, picking the game to play in P.E, etc..
I am trying to encourage and instill in students cleanliness, manners, learning to use signals to get out of their seats, keeping voices down and being responsible for the area around their seat.
This type of accountability will also carry into the classroom.
This project is to focus on grades 2 through 5. To help make this project a success, there will also be a table monitor from each class. These monitors are going to encourage their class to clean up trash and food, keep voices down and make good choices to earn their star for the day. I am very excited to make this happen and have more positive outcomes in the cafeteria!
