Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a math resource teacher at a middle school I didn’t expect to be in need of books and snacks. However, most of my students are reading at least 4 years below their grade level and do not have access to books at their reading level and topics that interest them. The National Geographic collection would be perfect for my students to read when they finish a test early and read during their free time. They need to have those moments of curiosity as they once did as young elementary students. My kids are also in need of snacks/food. Many don’t know when they’ll be able to eat after lunch is served at school.
