Help me give my students a C-Pen Reader! This pen scans documents and reads them aloud to you. It would be incredible for my students with learning disabilities in reading.
I am a special education teacher and I work with children with a range of disabilities. I have students with autism, ADHD, intellectual processing disorder, behavioral disorders, and many students that are English language learners and speak English as a second language.
My students need to experience a classroom that goes beyond pencil and paper.
In order for me to go the extra mile and plan activities that are engaging and help them learn, I would love to have more technological resources in my classroom as well as basic school supplies.
My students come from all different socioeconomic backgrounds but they are a group of brilliant students that genuinely want to learn. They just need the right outlets to show their gifts.
My Project
I am trying to get a C-Pen reader for my classroom. As a special education teacher, I work with a lot of students with learning disabilities in reading. They are so bright and understand grade level concepts, but they struggle to read material independently.
This C-Pen reader would allow my students with reading disabilities to scan their documents and have a human-like recorded voice read the text aloud to them.
I cannot say enough about how much this would benefit the students in my classroom. We are blessed to be in an age where technology is able to help children immensely in school if they are given the right tools. Please help me achieve my goal of creating a 21st century classroom and providing quality technological resources for my students!
