Help me give my students access to a C-Pen Reader. Simply pass the device across a word and it instantly displays the definition and reads the word aloud (even when not connected to a computer).
This year I have moved to a Title I elementary in the community I love to live and work in. I love my new students and experiencing life with them in our classroom every day. Helping all of them become better than they were before they walk into my classroom is what I hope for them all at the end of the day. I want my students to feel they can connect to their community, school, and each other as leaders when they leave my classroom.
My fourth graders are diverse and deserve many opportunities to succeed, and having basic supplies in the classroom provided to them will help all students, regardless of whether they were able to bring it or not.
I meet each student where they are in their learning journey and take them further down their own individual pathways. Seeing them enjoy what we do in class is the ultimate reward! I want every student in my classroom to have an opportunity to feel they are a part of it and their own experiences and beliefs will be valued. These future world leaders inspire me every single day and deserve the best.
My Project
I recently found out about this device when looking at other teacher's Donors Choose projects. I have students that have access to digital devices for read alouds. This would be an instrumental and non-invasive device to add to my classroom resources for these students. I believe it would be easier to open a book than a digital device to read without distractions, especially when Wifi is not working.
My readers work so hard to progress, and I want to provide every opportunity for them to succeed and grow this year in my classroom.
Donors Choose has been such a great community that supports classrooms. We would love your support of this classroom basic. Thank you so much!
