This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Imagine living in an area of a city that is known for violence, poverty, and lack of living conditions. My students live this every single day. Many of my students are unable to go outside and play due to the violence and fears. Their living conditions are extremely poor and would be considered unsafe for many of us. But they live there.
My students are migrant students who are working hard to learn English.
They come to school with a smile on their face, ready to learn.
My Project
The materials on this project will allow my English Language Learners the ability to learn phonics and reading skills using games. My English language learners are working extremely hard to grow. Older siblings are helping younger siblings at home because they understand the struggle of "being behind" due to speaking a different language and being remote most of last year.
Having these materials will give us more ways to keep us excited to continue to learn basic English & reading skills.
We have already made so much growth but we have so much further to go!
