This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are individuals who love to learn. They prove this by creating and participating in their school's Quizbowl team. Quizbowl is an academic competition that allows students to compete against other schools. The nature of the competition means that a student can be asked any kind of question, including questions related to math, art, or current events.
When we had our first practice, I could tell my students were having so much fun and learning from each other, something that I, as their teacher and coach, am always happy to see!
My Project
My students are committed to developing their school's Quizbowl team. They are driven by friendly competition and a love for learning. They want to prepare as much as they can to achieve greatness within their competition.
The questions used to practice connect to a variety of subjects students are learning in their classes, including history, science, and art, and my students strengthen their connection of their school learning to their competition learning.
The buzzer system will not only drive friendly competition but will also allow my team to experience how the competitions are run. These practices take place within school, so none of these materials will be used at home.
