My Students
We are an AMAZING post high school program that serves students ages 18-22 with severe disabilities. Our focus is on transition as we prepare for life after the traditional school environment. We have an emphasis on independent living, community skills, functional academics and vocational skills.
The students in our class are bright, eager to learn, friendly, and love to be a part of the community.
They work hard in a variety of settings and are always learning.
My Project
Students at our school have a focus on transition and vocation...which is hard to do when COVID-19 throws a wrench in your training! Because we are finding it difficult to get out in the community to work during this pandemic, we are opening up our own class business of making customized pins. While we are already outfitted with machines for small pins, but we would LOVE the funds to buy a bigger size pin machine and supplies so our customers have options when they order.
Safely following directions and learning good vocational skills are keys to independence.
The addition of a large button machine to our classroom will enable us to train our students, experience feelings of accomplishment, and earn extra funds for accessing the community.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
