My students need butterfly bushes, vegetable plants, and herb plants to add some NATURE to our Nature Trail!

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are inquisitive, ingenious, and can find all kinds of possibilities in whatever work I give them.

All of my students speak Spanish, either because it is the dominant language spoken in the home, or because we are a bilingual school committed to empowering our students through connecting them to their own heritage.
I've seen the power of Donors Choose to empower some of the teachers at my school and would like to use that power to benefit my own students as well as our whole science department!
My Project
My students and their parents (along with school admin and maintenance) have created a beautiful nature trail. They've decorated fence posts, installed a sensory walk, built raised planters (which are empty), and created an outdoor classroom with benches and a platform.
What our nature trail needs now is some actual NATURE.
We'd like to plant vegetables and herbs in the raised planters and create a "butterfly ally" where students may release the butterflies they raise during their unit on metamorphosis.
Our administration has committed more help with the possible construction of a rain shelter if we can populate the trail with vegetation and create the butterfly alley. Please help us reach our goal!
