My Project
When most people think of school libraries, they do not think about science experiments. However, the school library is the perfect spot to reach every student in the school since they all come for library class each week. Many library classes focus on sharing stories and/or learning how to research and with this project, we will be doing both.
My students will be excited to see the caterpillars transform into butterflies and will want to learn more about these amazing insects.
I envision doing mini research projects even with the youngest learners. They will be eager to listen to books such as the Impatient Caterpillar series and The Very Hungry Caterpillar and discuss facts vs. fiction in those stories. I think they will be so engaged that they will not even realize how much they are learning.
